Ingredients

For the Meatloaf:
- 2 pounds ground turkey
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
For the Glaze:
- 1/4 cup ketchup (plus more for topping)
Instructions
Step 1 — Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). A warm oven ensures even cooking.
Step 2 — Mix the Base: In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, and garlic. This is the meatloaf’s base.
Step 3 — Prepare Wet Mixture: In another bowl, mix eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and spices. This adds moisture and flavor, binding everything together.
Step 4 — Combine: Pour the wet mixture over the turkey mixture. Gently mix until just combined. Avoid overmixing to prevent a dense meatloaf.
Step 5 — Shape & Glaze: Put the mixture in a loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on a baking sheet. Top with remaining ketchup for a sweet glaze.
Step 6 — Bake & Rest: Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until it reaches 165°F (75°C). Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- Don’t overmix: Mix ingredients gently to keep it tender. Too much mixing can make it tough.
- Add moisture: Use eggs or a bit of chicken broth. They add flavor and keep it moist.
- Check the internal temperature: Use a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches 165°F. This keeps it safe and juicy.
- Rest before slicing: Let it sit for about 10 minutes after baking. This helps keep it moist and makes slicing easier.
- Experiment with flavors: Try adding herbs, spices, or cheese for more taste. It’s easy and makes the dish richer.
